I was looking into getting c clip eliminators with the rear end i plan on building. I was just wondering do you use regular c clip axles with this kit or do you have to get axles with the c clip elimination. I plan on upgrading to 31 spline axles but im wondering what axles i should be looking at. Any recommendations? Thanks for reading this.

C-Clip axel's (including stock) work with the C-Clip elims.

But you should up grade axles, its a no brainer.

I know Moser offers a C-Clip and axle package with the eliminators already pressed on (I got it),and i bet Strangs does too.

I hope the car is for drag racing only, as C Clip eliminator rears are not good for the street.

Their said to not be very durable for the long run mileage wise as the bearings would burn up down the road. I had considered them for my car since i love running hard on the open roads and the thought of a axle flying off at 140+ mph shook me.

My racing bud/mechanic said their not in my intrest for daily driving as their oriented to drag racing where the axles take extreme stress from the launches. He also said it's not the c-clips that break but the axle itself right behind the splines and the thicker 31-spline axles would solve my concerns with a 300HP car that sees occassional track time.

/\ dunno about that. The guys who built my car all run in the NMRA and have Cclip elm on thier street cars, if they were that bad they wouldn't have suggested to put them on mine...

anyway i run strange 31 spline axels with thier elim. no probs at all but im not putting 25,000 miles on in a year either.

I am pretty sure the c-clip eliminator is perfect for a street or strip car.

Without the C-clip your axle can slide out of the housing (that would be bad on the street.) When most people upgrade their rearends they get an eliminator clip as insurance that the rear tire / axle assembly will not come out of the rearend.
