In my quest to make my car run high 11s to low 12s I am step by step moding my 2006 gt. My question is should I go with the ford racing intake manifold first or the detroit rocker cams first either way brenspeed will be installing the part and tuning the car. What do you guys think should be first?

Awesome, the car must run good! I would really suggest a Pypes Long-tubes/x-pipe for your car, and a re-tune again, with that plus what you have and a re-tune that puts your car in the 12's easy (traction permitting!) I'm getting the Detroit Rocker cams and charge motion delete plates @ Brenspeed on July 6th, cant wait!! Right now you got CAI and throttle body covered, so u got PLENTY of air coming in, now I would do the longtubes and re-tune, now we know 100% your car can breath in an out as best as it can. Then after that the cams and motion delete plates and a dyno tune... After all that when you ready for more do the intake manifold and some gears...

thanks for the advice undisputed. Do you live in Indiana? The reason I ask is because you said you were getting things done at brenspeed I only live like 30 mins from there. Thats why that is the only place that I use. ( and because they are the best) Anyway benspeed is having dyno days in the next week or so they will dyno tune your car for like 50 bucks hell of a deal if you ask me.

+1 on the cams first and then intake. Also don't get the delete plates if you're going to buy the FRPP intake anyways because that particular intake is said to delete the CMCVs so you'll be wasting money.

You're looking to build an engine similar to what I want to do.

FRPP intake, Detroit Rocker cams, FRPP Throttle bodies, and 302 stroker. Make it a nice N/A engine with a great tune and if I want more I'll just add a Procharger later or maybe a Turbo Kit.

I don't think you'll go that fast with those cams. Ask Brenspeed if comp cams #127500 will more likely get you where you want to be.

+1 on the CMRC delete, the FRPP manifold already deletes them, atleast according to what I've read and heard.

I have the comp 127500 cams in stock heads, with the C&L manifold. This really took some tuning and track time, but I went 12.4 before the manifold, and and after many tweaks on the tune ran two 12.19s back to back. That's with a bad clutch!! I missed 2nd on both runs and still ran low 12s. 11s are easy once I get a new clutch in.

Cams and the manifold are for high rpm driving, and note your low end torque will suffer a bit.

Out of curiosity what tires are you running with those low 12 passes?

Sounds like you're doing real good! that gives me hope for a 302 stroker setup with cams and intake :

EDIT: CHA CHING POST 1000!

26" ET Streets. I think I was at 15psi, with the QA1 shocks set at 5 (out of 12). Front tires going airborne, of course!

Those stock heads are holding that plenum intake back. With ported heads you'll be in the 11's easy.

My heads are getting swapped in September ready for fall racing. There are only a handful of cars that have made 11s with stock shortblock and heads, and I'm gunning for that club. We race again Memorial Day weekend. With the heads, I want to push towards 11.5s...

I actually live in N.Y... But 1, we have waaay too many story tellers and "reputable shops" around here that just want to make the $$$ off of whatever they are selling you, an and 2, I like road trips, so getting the work done at Brenspeed w/ the guest house they offer, and the great service and reputation, I figure whats a day of driving for peace of mind. And, I am using their cams, so I know that they have much experience w/ tuning and such w/ my Vortech and cam's! I havent heard anything bad about them, much un-like many other companies!

Get the cams dude. Anybody that lives within driving distance from brenspeed count yourself as lucky. Getting your mods installed properly and tuned properly is everything. Our here in the pacific I have to do this all myself. Not sure if there is even a dyno on the island!! And if there was, I surely wouldnt trust em!!! LOL
