I put my 69 429 in my 77.5 f250 did cam break in as per comp cams procedure and the cam has failed within 30 miles. As soon as I fired it up it did not sound right on the right side. it developed a bad miss I pulled the valve covers after getting my exhaust on and one rocker was sideways resting on the spring retainer. I called the engine builder he came out we bumped it over, 2 and 3 intake valves hardly move and its got a distinctive grinding sound to it,

the motor is coming out tommorow and the shop is warrentying it so far.

I am going to go with a roller cam this time around to avoid another failure.

I am worried as my oil pressure has drasticlly dropped off. 10 psi hot idel 850 rpm and 35 psi 2700 rpm highway speed. the shop says they will warrenty all costs including re and re.
