Hey fellow stangers!!! I am in the progress of buy a set of compcams and just had a question....Does anybody have any articles or know of any more info that can help me install the cams myself. I have a basic idea of what has to be done but would just like some reinforcement if i can get any...I really just dont fell like spending $800 for an install that i can take my time and do myself... any help would be appreciated...Thanks!!

I don't have the site off hand, but do a quick search and you will find it. FYI...follow the instructions carefully!! I can not stress that enough. I didn't clock the crank down to get the pistons in safe mode and I ended up busting all 8 valves (one side) on my 97...cost twice what the install would've been (live and learn).

On something like this take your, time if you aren't at least an average mechanic you might want to have someone do the job for you. The money you save doing it yourself might end up costing you much much more if you screw something up.

Good Luck

I consider myself I decent mechanic, not great, but more than your average joe I guess....I have comp stage II cams in my car, and the more I looked into it, the more I was convinced on getting it done by a pro, with these modular engines, everything is so "to spec"...

I just didnt wanna take the chance...I would love to do it on a beater or something, a practice round, but not on my car, no way ...but good luck bud, let us know how you made out.
