FWIW, carfax is useless... I had a truck that had over $9k worth of damage with a $9500 value (they found things after they were in the middle of repairing it) and carfax shows clean, even years later. Also my Mustang showed a clean title when I bought it even though it had been spun probably against a guardrail (damage all teh way around)...
So do not trust carfax. Don't get me wrong I will always run one but I let my inslection of the car carry MUCH more weight...
He is right. When I went to buy mine, it had an Idaho Repaired Vehicle title so of course I ran one. Turns out the passenger rear where there are some scrapes and a tail light was busted was where the guy got rear ended at about 20mph. Since the car was so old the insurance company considered it totaled. He bought it back from the insurance company for like $25 and had to get a repaired vehicle title. So carfax isn't always reliable, but a source you want to use. Sorry off tpoic, I know.
