I just finished the install of a new intake on my 2000 mustang GT. I bought the PI intake w/ aluminum crossover, since my old one was leaking. I connected eveything that I took off, and then I tried turning the key over about 6-7 times to bring up the fuel pressure in my fuel rails. Car still won't start. I tried to leave the key forward for a while too, but it still won't start. Anbody have any ideas??? I need my car since it's my only mod of transportation.

You are sure you hooked everything back up?

Does it even turn over but not start? Start but then shut down, or just click?

I can feel the stater torque the motor, but nothing else. It seems to be gettinf fuel, I pulled the injectors again, and the fuel lines had pressureized. I was thinking the alternator just craped out, but out of nowhere?? I'm going to pull the plus and see if there getting a spark. maybe you guys have another idea???

seems like it turns over and doesn;t fire. I just pulled one of the plugs out and put the cop on it and plugged it itn. I had my dad try and start the car, while I had the spark plug and cop sitting on the metal fenerwall trying to see it if would spark. I saw no spark at all....I guess i'm not getting a spark to the cylinders, and that why. But, is there a connection other than on the cop's that could have accidentally come off? Where would I look??

I just did a search about something similar.

This is what another member said about another person that replaced their intake.

"Some coolant probably leaked into the plug wells either during the install, or they are leaking after the install.

Pull the coil packs out on those cylinders, see if they are wet/damp. Also stick a shop towel, paper towel, something down there in the plug wells to see if you can sop up some coolant." -- BurningRubber

I appreciate the help, I already did this and I also used a air compressor to blow out anything stuck in there. I thing I may have a bad ground, or something, for the plugs not to get a spark.....

Nine times out of ten it is something related to the work done. I know mine took a while to fire up. Go back through the steps and make sure you didn't skip one.

One thing I am pretty sure is you didn't short an electrical connection in the starting circuit because that will generally pop a breaker and it wouldn't even turn over. The only thing I can think of is to make sure all of the coils are connected securely. You can also do a quick check of the primary resistance with an ohm meter. Probe the terminals and make sure they read 0.55 ohms. If they got wet it may have conked one or more out.

check you crank and cam position sensors. you might of knocked it loose during the install the cam position sensor is on the drivers side behind the power steering resevoir. the crank position sensor is near the a/c compressor

The connectors on the cops themselves. There are two prongs inside the connector.

If it got wet with coolant it wouldn't dry out very soon since the boiling point is over 275 degrees. Even if it is wet with water it would take a while with the boot sealing in moisture.

checked them both. They are fine. Could it have to do with two connections on bolts right in the front of the engine?? I don't know what there called, but on is connected to a bolt the hold the t-stat in place, and the other is on the passenger's side of the front of the manifold....are they a ground, becasue thats what I'm leaing towards.

I blew them out thoroughly with an air compressor, both the cop's and their terminals and the fuel injectors, and their terminals.

I'm about ready to shoot holes in my car.....atleast then, I would have a cool story to tell.

Well after spending most of the night racking my brain and trying things, once, twice, three times to no avail, I'm gonna have her towed to a shop and have them troubleshoot it. Hopefully it's something silly stupid, and I can have her back before too long......
