Can anyone recommend a good brand of car cover that fits well on a 1990 GT body?

I have a California Custom Car Cover and it fits like a glove. It's on my 90 GT 'Vert.

I got mine from Summit racing for only $150. It is a Wolf custom cover made with Noah fabric that fits all 87-93 Mustangs, even has mirror covers sewn into it. Works great, I would highly recommend it.

Steeda, they make them for all specific for model of car. I have a conv. and the cover fits perfect.

So these covers should be universal between 3rd Generation Mustangs? Like fits for LX, GT, Convertible, Coupe?
My cars a GT hatch.

Steeda makes them specific for LX or GT.

How were you planning on using the cover? Many people who haven't used them before think of them as a kind of substitute for a garage. They really don't work very well for that.

Their primary benefit is to keep the SUN off of a car and it's interior minimizing UV damage. It's not good at all for the cover or the car to sit in the rain. A car sitting under a cover in the elements (rain/dry cycles) is worse off than just letting it sit exposed.

And I can tell you from personal experience, trying to rush out and get the cover off before it starts raining is a lesson in high maintenance. If the cover does get wet - good luck trying to find a place to store it. They hold an amazing amount of water, and putting them in the trunk is a BIG problem as the water, of course, finds it's way to the bottom of the trunk with no way out - not to mention soaking carpet and pads.

Covers - great for garaged cars at keeping dust/contaminants off; great for keeping the sun off one outside. TERRIBLE for keeping water off.

If you already knew - never mind.

Thats what I found the hard way. I have 4 stangs and only 2 garage bays. I bought a cover for one of the cars that had to sit out in the sun/ran only to find that when it rained, all the crap that was on the cover went through and was trapped between the cover and the car. The car was wet for 2 dys after it rained and looked like it had been through a mud storm even though it was freshly waxed when I covered it. If somebody knows of a cover that is designed for a car that has to sit out all winter, I would really like to hear about it.

I'm afraid it's called a garage or car port. There's simply no cover that works to just let a car sit under it. The breathable ones as you've noted, let all the stuff pass through. Left long enough (not long at all), the wet cover sitting on the paint in sunshine can really do a number damaging the paint. Anything non-breathable allows condensation to occur under the cover on the car -- and then the cover traps the moisture against the surface; those are REALLY a problem.

If it must sit outside - 1) give it a good coat of wax; 2) Use paper/tape to tape off the inside of the windows to block the sun from the inside of the car; 3) every week or so, roll the car forward and backward 8 to 10" so that the tires don't take a set. That's a better approach than putting it under a cover.

Cal Car Cover Co makes them specific for GT, LX, Coupe/Convert. They really do a nice job.
