Just this start of the hot weather I have noticed my car doesn't like to run very well at all. On cold startup, it backfires and doesn't like to run. It stumbles. Kind of like the issue Hazmat404 described in his recent thread about his car.

Sometimes it does it and cometimes it doesn't.

But when its warm is really the problem. The car runs fine untill it gets to the N or the O then is craps out. I was in third gear yesterday with mild acceleration and when it got to about 2500 its like someone pulled all the timing out of the car and it felt as slow as my v6 did. I could leterally feel the car slow down while my foot was on the pedal.

Its intermittant so I can never pinpoint what it is. After this all started I just though it was because of the weather so I cleaned the mass air and it drove noticably better but no much.

Anyone have any sugestions.

damn man....i hope we figure out our problem. my car hasnt fallen on its face after it has warmed up yet. its something with my open loop that is killing me. once you hit N to O on your temp gauge you should be in closed loop for sure. you replace your ect seonsor yet?? ive heard many of people solving a good bit of problems with that. you should message me so i can talk to you on aol. ive got a good idea what an ect problem feels like (replaced a few on a few buddies cars) but i want my car working right and same with your cause i wanna meet up and hit the track or at least the street one day

Well last night after I detailed my car I decided to check the cap/rotor/spark plugs. One of the spark plugs on the drivers side wasn't fully threaded in. I turned it over about 2-3 times to lock it in. It runs better for sure. I also took a wire brush to the metal components in the cap and rotor. They had mildu on them so I cleaned them. I say the car is running good for a mini tuneup.

Hazmat, next time Im going to the track Ill be sure to let you know. We will probably cruise to byron and meet up with zenboy maybe. Let me know if your goin.
