I have a 1990 mustang with 5 speed that will be running fine and then the rpms will drop to 0 and back to normal. If the engine is revved up and has a load like on the highway the engine will cut in and out but not die. If I am at idle it will die. It is very very random and acts like it loses all spark or all fuel pressure at once but picks back up. every once in a while it wont start (cold or hot) but if you wait maybe an hour it will. It is mostly stock 5.0 with no egr or smog pump. It does have 1 5/8 short headers, no cats, electric fan. I have changed these parts:
IAC
fuel pump--155lpg
fuel pressure reg. holley
ignition coil
distributor
wires and plugs
vac. lines
I have set idle and cleaned the throttle body and maf. I am running good fuel pressure still--40--. any ideas?
