alright guys, I'm trying to hook my kids car seat up in the back of the stang but I cant find the hooks that you attach the car seat hooks to. The owners manual states that there are two hooks behind each seat. Can any one point me in the right direction.

No idea. I just used the regular shoulder strap. I've had my rear seat out, no hooks in my car.

i was reading farther into the owners manual and to get them installed you have to take it to a dealer and have them do it. It also says it will be at no charge. I wonder if the dealerships will still honer that.

Just so everyone knows, all you have to do is call a ford dealerships parts department. Tell them you bought a car that doesn't have the child seat teather kit installed. They will order the kit for no charge. The only down side is that dealership has to install the kit but it is free.

I've been using the regular shoulder strap too and frankly, that seat isn't going anywhere. Very snug fit, plus the belt clip (installed within an inch of the buckle) keeps the belt from advanicing.

If we have a second child, I think the stang will no longer be used for the then two little ones. No way I can fit a car seat behind my seat, as I'm tall and have to keep the driver's seat all the way back. The only way to fit the one current seat on the passenger side is to adjust the front passenger seat almost all the way forward. If you're over 5'6", there's no way you'd fit in my passenger seat with the child seat behind you.

Back to topic: Not sure what you're car seat's instructions recommend, but mine stated that the shoulder belt and belt clip were acceptable/legal.

The mustang is my third vehicle so I don't have to put my kids car seat in it but it is nice to take the family for a ride down the canyons around our house. The shoulder strap is legal and workers but I would rather have that little extra security. O ya, did I mention its free!!!
