Car won't run on HO firing order

I have an 89 GT it only runs on the old school 302 firing order, when I wire it correctly w/351 firing order it barely will run. Does that mean I have a non HO computer? There is a lot of numbers on the computer,which number do I read to find out which one I have?? Is there a site to go check these numbers? Thanks!!

If it's non-mass air it should be DA1, or you can always look on www.car-part.com, enter your info and it will come up with all the part numbers. Try matching it up that way.

it has nothing to do with the computer, the cam is what decides the firing order and if it won't run on the HO order than it isn't a roller cam or an HO cam. is this motor original and are you the original owner.
