Well, I came out to crank up my car today, and here's what happened. First, it's a 2003 GT with ~20k miles. When I first started it, it fired off like normal, up to about 1000 RPMs, then when it started back down to idle, instead of idling back down it sputtered all the way down and died. Total, it was probably running for about 2-3 seconds. Now when I try to start it, it seems like it doesn't have any compression. It just spins really easily. Has anybody had this happen? Could it be a timing belt? Should I just call the Ford dealer in the morning and tell them to come get it and fix it? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

do you have any mods to your car? and when you mean "It just spins really easily" what spins, the engine or the starter?

No, the car doesn't have any mods. It's completely stock. The engine is actually spinning, but really easily. Like it doesn't have any compression.

Also, does anybody know if the warranty will cover towing to the dealership?

Try resetting your fuel switch, it might have tripped somehow...

Well, talked to the dealership this morning and they said the chip in my key may have gone bad. Tried the other key, and when I did, the car cranked and a big cloud of white smoke came out. It ran on about 6 cylinders for a few minutes, and then it seemed ok. They still took it in and now they can't find anything wrong with it. They're holding it overnight to try it in the cold first thing in the morning. It may be ok now, but something was definitely wrong. It shouldn't have done that.
