I have a 68 J code 302 and need to know what was the original carb that came from the factory. thanks, mike

It should have been an Autolite 2100 2 bbl carburetor.
A 289 in 65
302 was in 67s and later
Either way it had a 2100 Autolite on it unless it was a Hi-Po 289 or a special order 4 bbl version 302 engine out in 67 or later
A 4bbl on those small engines is not beneficial unless you have the compression ratio to use it IMO

Hi Mike,
The 1968 J-Code 302 used an Autolite 4300 4V Carburetor:
C8ZF-C for manual transmissions
C8ZF-D for automatic transmission.
