I'm not all about blinging out but I thought these would be a nice addition to my engine bay. I can't decide on a color for paint and I don't want the comp valve covers with the big ass "comp cams" logo on it so I thought carbon fiber would be a nice alternitave

I did a search and I can't find any, I was wondering if any of you guys knew where or if they exist?

It's been a while, but I thought that someone made carbon fiber valve covers. I went back to find out, but came up empty. Aren't the Comp Cams logo on the polymer covers just a sticker that you could peel off?

Just so you know, Carbon fiber is lighter than aluminum. In racing lighter is better, so what's so "rice" about that?

I've been dying for a set of CF valve covers ever since i saw that v-10 in a penzoil magazine ad

We used to sell these at work but at $400 plus a set they didn't sell very well so we discontinued them. There was a company manufacturing them for us but I have a feeling they went out of business. Their website has been down for over a year and the owner was really flakey on returning calls and following up on price inquiries as of late last year. The few sets we did use turned out to be less than perfect. The mounting holes didn't line up very well on a couple of the sets, leaks were pretty commong and we damaged a couple of other parts with a broken rocker stud letting the rocker girdle flex enough to crack a $225 valve cover. The other we shot a push rod through on a similar scenario. A decent set of aluminum valve covers would be less expensive and a lot more durable.

The comp cams polymer covers come in blackso why not just get those, same as the carbon fiber would be. Then just take the stickers off.

That looks Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. Those covers match the black paint and everything beautifully. That looks far from rice!

Just my opinion man, relax. Do me a favor though. Put the Aluminum valve covers on and make your 1/4 run. Pull them after the run, put the fiber's on and tell me your time difference. Exactly my point....all for looks

Lighter is better- but in the case of "upgrading" your valve covers- the only thing that would be noticeably lighter would be your wallet!! Stay with the classic polished/chrome! Spend your paycheck on quality mods... Just my .02

I understand what you all are saying but I did say from square one I intended this to be an appearance thing

I do enough work trying to go faster I figure every once and a while I can spare some bling

If you dont understand the difference weight can make, then you just dont get it. There comes a point when you run out of things to do with a certain combo and you want to take weight out without gutting it, so you look for every little spot to take out weight. Now $400 for some valve covers is beyond pushing it but some Comps might work out nice.

It's the little details that seperate the winners from the losers!

ever since ive seen them i have been tryin to get them from him and i think he is finally giving in .
im sure someone wouldnt buy them for the sole purpose of weight reduction but they look trick and seperate you from the croud and to my knowldge they cool alot faster .

Sorry but that small weight difference, will give you no difference at the track. Like I said before. Run with the fibers and without and tell me your time difference. I spent $100 on mine...high rise ford racing covers and they're perfect. $400 on any cover is just plan stupid!!

The guy who asked about these to BEGIN WITH wanted them because they looked cool. If you consider people that want them or have them "stupid", then you're calling every person in here that has a hood, wing, billet interior pieces, and under hood dress up parts stupid. And there are too many people on this site that have those things for you to win this argument.

To keep this Tech. They do stay cooler when pulling them off to adjust the rockers for solid rollers and they are a lot stronger than the Comp Cams poly ones.
