I'm almost certain, but anyone else familiar with this sound...almost a rattling from the exhaust...so it seems.

usually around the 1500-2000 rpm range...usually...
Any gear...
Driving or in neutral...

If it is the cat going bad....I have a feeling its going to get louder if it breaks down further...just a hunch...

Thanks

I had a chunk of material break loose in mine years ago and it would rattle around like that. Best way to tell is to get it up on a lift or jackstands where you can pinpoint the sound.

get under there when the exhaust is warm and wack on the Cat, you will know if its shot.. if you let it go too long it will damage your o2 sensor.. and might give ya some annoying noise in your mufflers for a while

my cat shields were only tac-welded on, they would rattle at low RPM under acceleration or when I held RPM at around 2.5k. Mostly heard it off of curbs (reflecting back). Any way had the re-welded. No more noise.

The way to tell if a cat is bad is get a hammer and tap on the cat while the car is off! if you hear rattling around then you know the ceramic is broken. my cats off of my bassani exhaust went last year. The covers also were rattling around.
