So I went and got my 95 dyno'ed yesterday and I was more than a little dissapointed with the results but I guess Ill have a lot to look forward to once I begine my engine build later.
I also need some advice from any of you more experienced guys since Iv never dyno'ed before...The guy that ran my car on the dyno said that my air/fuel curve is very weird and that he's never seen a cars curve go up like mine did, most cars go straight with maybe some waves or curves like mine but going down not up?
The results are corrected for the weather... Please give any advice you may have on how my numbers look compared to the mods I have listed in my sig but also keep in mind that my engine has about 173,000 miles on it.
Do you think it could hold 300 hp to the wheels, Im looking into a pair of gt40 heads and a few other bolt ons but dont know if it will be enough or if the motor can take it at this point in its life.

Well seeing as most stock cars dyno at 180rwhp, and you are putting out 35 more from the intake/cam combo, it's not completely unreasonable; especially since you don't even know what cam you have (if you do have an aftermarket one). I would think that with a better cam you should be seeing 225-230 at least, but who knows.

The a/f does seem to lean out pretty bad after 3500 (13.5 being the highest you want to see it). I would try cleaning your MAF sensor and IAT sensors if you haven't already. If they are pretty dirty, reset you comp after you clean them. Also, you should check out your ECT and see if it's working properly. Other than that, a custom tune is all you have left.

I think your numbers look pretty good considering just basic bolt ons!

Looks pretty good to me for a bolt on car. Are you sure is doesn't have a stock cam in it? I know our stock heads suck, but I would think you can get a little more power than that with an after market cam.

Anyways, here's my dyno sheet for a comparison. This is when the car was stock with just exhaust(o/r pro chamber, super turbos) and cai.

I really think that it does have a stock cam because the previous owner didnt say it had one when I bought it. I was told by a guy that worked on it at a mustang shop a while back, that it sounded like it has a mild cam.
Ill get some spray so I can clean out the MAF and IAT sensor.
Could bad o2 sensors be a cause of the air/fuel leaning out at top end?

Hey Low-5.0 How do you like that 418 stroker? Im thinking about building one for my car...How often do you drive it? Is it reliable? How do you think that motor whould be as a daily driver?

Without being too elaborate, the O2 sensors control part throttle acceleration and idle only. WOT is controled by the maf/ect/iat sensors only.

It's a lot of fun, but I don't think it would be a great dd. It's extremely loud and gets horrible gas mileage. If you don't drive much it would be ok, but I have to drive 60+ miles a day.

I only drove the stang about 1500 miles last year. I usually try to get it out at least once every week or two in the summer. It seems to be reliable so far. It left me stranded once, but that was just a rocker that came loose.

It probably has the stock cam. I know that when i had my full exhaust but stock heads and cam it had a semi aggressive sounding idle. One may think there was a cam in there. But it was most defineitly stock. IF there is one in there your valve springs are probably dead and cant keep up which would KILL your upper RPM power. I would guess that you have a stock cam though.

I usually fill up at a little less than 1/4 tank, and this is usually between 80-120 miles depending on how hard I drive. When I drive all highway I can get around 180 miles per tank.

i have a 410 going in that i am hoping to be my daily driver.

for exhaust, i am going with kooks headers, a mac pro-chamber, and delta 3-chamber flowmaster 50s. 3" all through. i might throw in some pro-flo twisters too to help quiet it down some more. i hope it's not too loud because i will want to drive it most days when the roads aren't wet.

my commute is about 14 miles each way

Im hoping that adding tailpipes will quiet it down some inside the car. You guys just driving short trips to work and back shouldn't have a problem. I have to drive 25 miles one way to work, then I drive anywhere from 10 to 100+ miles FOR work. I love my car as a "fun" car in the evenings or weekends, but it's not much of a work car anymore.

My 2006 Mazda now has over 31k on it....I bought it brand new in Sept. 05

This is good advice.

It's also pretty interesting... if you've been cruising these threads, you'll notice a lot of peeps have trouble with pinging or detonation. This is cause by a number of things but the two basica culprits, usually together, are 1 - Too much spark, and 2 - Too little fuel.

The Cobra's very rarely have pinging problem.

Its been demonstrated here that the stock GT MAF fuel curve is leaner then the stock Cobra MAF curve. I think you may be seeing that on paper.

The tune and what mo dingo posted are your only rememdies. On my TwEECer I fattened up my fuel curve 4% and the car seemed to love it. FYI.

You know what

With Gravity pulling those curves down and all

You'd think think the curves would stay flatter

Seriously though ...............

It looks pretty good considering you only got
intake
shorty's
and
or pipe

Im not sure how different the MAF curves are but i know the actual fuel trims from the T4MO are leaner than the ones from the J4J1.
