2004 Screaming Yellow auto Mach 1. Only 20,000 miles. It just needs a little TLC and it will be absolutely spotless. The detailing will begin when I go back home next weekend.

All it has is an SLP catback exhaust, although I don't know what kind. It isn't too loud, but I definitely like how it sounds.

What kind of power do the automatics make in stock form? Track times? Just curious. And what are the best first things to do one? I know absolutely nothing about the 4 valves.

-Will

p.s. This brings my granddad's total up to 3 Mustangs, a Lightning, and a 57 Ford Fastlane 500....So yes, he likes Ford vehicles.

That looks so sick. I love Screaming Yellow Machs. Looks sooooo nasty. And only 20k miles. Awsome.

My dad ran a 13.3 @ 105 or high 104mph. His was bone stock besides a Magnaflow catback. Awsome ride

Great Looking Mach! I like the fuel door.

My Grandad's got an 84 Corvette with 24k miles, been sittin in the garage since 1995. My other grandad has a pearl white buick lacrosse with chrome wheels, just plain beautiful.

305 HP stock and pulls like a proverbial freight train up above 3500 RPMs. I love mine. Like the 2V, it lacks low end torque, so one of the first things that should be considered is 4.10s or 4.30s.

Yea, I really took note of that first time I drove it. Barely even spun the tires over when launching/less than 3000ish rpm. But when it went into 2nd gear...man, it was all I could do to hold it in a straight line. It definitely pulls HARD up top. What kind of rpm would you take a car like this up to? He has already mentioned a programmer at some point. It seemed like it shifted a little early to me, around 58-5900. And it was REALLY pullin up there. Seems like you might could get a little more out of it turning a few more r's.

My dads is stick. But an auto with some drag Radials should be able to hit mid to low 13's at like 102-103ish.

The car looks great except for one thing:

The CB Antennae! It must be 4 feet long! Get a stubbie or cut it down immediately!

Very clean! I love the Mach 1 gauges and seats!

4.10, j-mod and a 3000 stall converter would make that car rock.

Yea, first time we went to look at the car, it didn't have an antennae at all. They said that they'd fix that, and, well, they did.

To tell you the truth, I don't really know. I think the asking price was 13,500, and knowing how tight my granddad is I'm sure he didn't give that. I would think anything less than 14 would be a good deal, so I definitely think he got his money's worth.

I'm trying to talk him and my grandma into going to the strip a few weekends from now and racing each other. Granddad in the Mach 1 vs grandma in the intake/exhaust/pullied/tuned Lightning. I say the Lightning by a car length. Regardless, if it happens, it WILL be on video.
