I took off a lot of the trim on my car, and theres tons of caked on dirt, old adhesives, and grease everywhere... My dad suggested using paint thinner on the grease. I dont really care if it affects the paint because im getting it painted in the spring, but will it affect how the new paint sticks or anything? Or does anyone have any better ideas on how to clean her up?

When we painted mine, I used a 3M grease and tar remover that was safe for the plastic molding and ground effects. For the lower ground effects stuff, I used a scuff pad and the tar/grease remover. To each is own I guess, this is what the painter had me do, so I did it. He was pretty darn good!
