clearcoat question

I gotta chrome yellow 98 GT,and the clearcoat is peeling.Last year it was the quarter panal,this year its the back bumper.Question is does anyone else have this problem?Is it just my car?Or is it just yellow ones?Or all mustangs???If anyone knows a way to prevent the clear from coming off in the future Im open to suggestions.Thanks all.

my clear coat is also peeling o nthe door right under the side mirror, i also notied it on the hood "scoops" where the bend is. i dont know how to fix it, hopefully it wont spread...

When I first noticed my quarter panal peeling last year it was the size of a half dollar,about 4 months later it was about 2 feet long.I hope it doesnt happen to you.

My 98 GT started cracking on the passenger side fender back in 2001. took it to a dealer and found out that most of the mustangs built in late 97 and early 98 were victims of some bad clearcoat/paint batches.

damn, what i did on my door, i juss tried covering it up with some black paint i had. i tried to take off all the peeling part and then put paint over it to try to seal it.

I had a feeling it was some kind of ford factory fawk up.Im also thinking its probably gonna peel everywhere eventually.Oh well,least its not rust.
