I'm thinking about purchasing a Cobra upper/lower intake for my car but don't know what the advantages are, if any. I have only the stock one now but really like the looks of the Cobra intake. Is the Cobra intake better performance wise, or should I just save my money?

use the moolah to buy gears....the stock intake is good til about 300 hp, which your close to, but really being held back by the aod and stock gears.

if you plan on more mods...get the intake after you do your tranny work and rear end.

otherwise just keep it stock

get the cobra intake for sure. with your setup your being choked down majorly by that intake. even on a stock car the intake adds some good power.

Get the cobra the stock lower is the bottle neck from what I have read. You should feel a difference after the intake swap.

How difficult is it to install a cobra manifold myself? Does the kit come with everything ( like gaskets and stuff)? Do I need a new EGR spacer?

Sorry for stealing the thread.

Most intake kits come with the bolts. Installing the intake is easy I can have mine off in 10mins. The frist time it takes longer of course but after that its real easy. You dont have to replace the EGR unless you up grade your TB which you should since you have a bigger opening for it on the intake.

yea you have the cam and the heads, you need the intake to have the complete H/C/I and the air for your heads to breath comes from the intake, right, so if the stock intake is robbing your heads of air, they just wont beable to breath as good - yea make sure u get a throttle body too - 65 or 70mm
