My Cobra R hood paint is starting to bubble up in one of the louvers. It has the factory heat shield under the hood and it's been parking in the garage for a while now, just noticed it today though. What would cause it to bubble for no reason?

I have absolutely no heat shield under mine and the paint is flawless

Id discuss it with whoever painted your hood.

You have any aftermarket stuff on the engine that would sit closer to the hood than stock?

prob just bad prep work before it was painted. any contaminant can cause it to bubble up like that

Guess it would go hand in hand with the front bumper too then...

I have the accufab plenum, only thing that may make it slightly closer.

Mine has a few bubbles under the paint on the very front of the hood, drivers side. Its been there for years now. Not sure what it's from, but there is no visible rust. The underside of the hood looks perfect and my heat shield is in place and like new. The way I see it is that a re-paint won't be as good as the factory paint (will accumulate more rock chips), so why re-paint it unless the bubbles get bigger?

Sucks though, I hear ya on that one!
