1) Does anyone know the length of a stock connecting rod for a 351W?

2) How is compression height of a piston measured?

Thanks.

I was looking at CHP's website and was interested in one of their stroker cranks. I asked them what rods are used with that crank and the ones they suggested sounded longer than stock rods. They suggest 6.125" rods. So I was just curious how much longer than stock they were.

If you plan on buying rods and pistons, you might look at longer rods, but w/o a dyno you'll never know the difference, and may not even be one. Stock rods are fine for street strip, and they are longer than the almighty sbc. Pistons are simple using stock rods, once you get different length rods, you have to watch pin size, compression height, etc. Save money and head ache and use stock rods. If you must get everything from the same person to reduce chance of incompatability.
