Hey guys, anyone know where I can purchase the front part of a 68 Convertible top frame? The part that lays across the top of the windshield. I'm putting a new top on when I removed the old top, this part, made of aluminum, was corroded and pitted really bad. Or maybe if someone had a used one that is in good shape.

Thanks in advance.

That is the chrome header I assume. It sucks but that is not being reproduced.
It is not easy to find. I will keep my eyes out.

No, it's not the trim piece, it actually the front part of the frame, that the top wraps around and this piece goes down across the top of the trim piece. The top latches go on this piece as well.

Oh, I understand. I will still keep an eye out for that. I do see those parts sometimes.

Currently you'll have to find a used one, if yours is unrepairable. A good welder can TIG in a lot, but if you have massive pitting, you are going to have a problem. Of course, the top, which is where it pits, is not visible when assembled.

Currently the only way to get a new one is to buy the whole top frame. Of course, that will change if lots of people write to them and ask.

Someone HAS reproduced them. But currently you have to buy the whole frame to get it. Click on this link to bug them about separately selling them. They already do for Camaros. If they get a lot of email, maybe they'll be nicer to Ford owners, too.
