Convertible Top Question

Well it's kind of a long story but the kids in my neighborhood (i'm guessing) slashed the top open on my 96 vert a while ago. I need to get this fixed and am trying to decide if I should do this my self or not. Has anyone changed there own top, any tips or tricks. really doesn't look that bad, just want to know what I might be getting into. Thanks

The top is cheap (about 160 bucks from 50resto if you dont need a new window bit). Theres several write ups online (I think ehow had a good one), and 50resto used to sell an installation instruction DVD for 20 bucks.

I'll be doing mine this winter. I reviewed the instructions. Looks like it would take a fair bit of time to do it nicely but not very challenging. No special tools really.

Does your insurance cover vandalism? Did you get a police report?

I just had this exact scenario happen to me recently and all I ended up paying was my $100 co-pay. All told the total bill was $1650. I paid my $100 and got one beautiful new top profesionally installed.

the car just has liabilty unfortunatly, i did get a police report however.
