94 mustang convertible- bought motor 1 year ago.
This morning the top worked fine- then at lunch today- i went to put the top down and I pulled up the ebrake- everything was going good so fall. I released the latches and then pressed the switch- and it made no noise- liket he motor wasn't working.... just a clicking noise is all I heard- but the top did not move at all.

Could it be a relay- or the motor? or what?
please help-
miami, fl thanks

i dunno if this helps or not, but I bought my mustang back in the winter (so there was no need for me to take the top down). The first warm day that came in spring, i went to take the top off and when I pushed the button nothing happend. So I called up the local dealership and told them it needed serviced. I explained to them what happend. They found the problem. They said there was a connector switch ,under the console where the button is, that was "unconnected" atleast thats what they said so they hooked it up and its working fine. Though I did at first think the motor mechanism was bad!

First check the fuse just be be sure that is fine. Then, pop the switch out to see if there are any wires disconnected. Then move to the motor behind the rear seat. If it is still connected to the wires, then you can inspect it to ensure the mechanicals are connected and there is no damage there. Also check the hydraulic lines to see if there are any leaks. If it looks good, see what voltage the motor runs at and try activating it by using some wires and a power source (car battery - if it is 12 volts).

After all esle fails, order a new or used one from http://www.mustangsalvageparts.com I didn't see any available there, but you can always call.
