The Wife and I made a quickie Vegas trip this weekend to go to the NHRA event at The Strip. The weather was absolutely perfect at about 80 with a light breeze. Coming from Seattle where it was 50 and raining, that by itself was a great time. We were strolling around between rounds and were walking by the Mopar trailer when I heard someone mention that Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen were siging autographs together at a booth down the way. Back in the early 70's my aunt and uncle gave me the Snake and Mongoose Hot Wheels set for Christmas and that was probably what steered me on my way to becoming a Car Guy. I'd met The Snake once before, but had never been able to track down McEwen. I ducked into the Nitro Mall, grabbed an NHRA hat and a big NHRA decal and got in line. Five minutes later, here I was:
