Coolant Overflows when using Nitrous still!

This it the link to the original post OLD POST

Now I have...
-Replace lower hose with coiled one...
-Replaced Radiator cap with new 18 psi...
-Replaced head gaskets...
-Installed ARP head studs...

I went ahead and replaced the head gaskets just to be sure and installed arp bolts but that wasn't the problem (lifting heads).

When I use nitrous a couple times back to back the overflow still overflows and goes all over the place. What else could it be? Anyone think a 160 degree thermostat could be causing this?

Please HELP!

I think the heads are still lifting. When you took the heads off did you get them milled? The heads are possible warped and not seating.

I didn't get them milled because I dont think they are warped. I got the heads from Thumper probably about 6 months ago and the car has never been overheated, not even close. The car also passes compression tests with flying colors and drives awesome with and with out nitrous... just the coolant over flows...

Sounds like your not "burping" the cooling system properly
Also try a high flow t stat, Check it out, Mr Gasket makes them.

I have one of those 160 degree thermostats in. The coolant system is burped properly, I've made sure to get all the air out of the system...

The only thing I can suggest besides headgasket (that is what it was when I had this prob) is maybe you are temporarily overwhelming the coolant system. Do you have underdrive pullies? Different fan set up? What are your engine temperatures looking like? Are you sure the gauge is correct? It could be spiking when you stay on the nos, maybe you can try some coolant additive I have heard of, it brings temperatures in the coolant system down a lot supposedly, or get rid of the underdrive pullies. Are you getting air bubbles in the coolant resevoir? That will indicate headgasket. Also I have had a blown headgasket and still passed a compression test, do you know what the compression test should really read for your combo, compression ratio plays a factor. Did you comp test ALL the cylinders (definately check the 4 far cylinders) also are you possibly running lean? That will increase temperatures throughout the motor and could cause headgasket problems. You said that you put new headgaskets on because the car was doing this before, so the heads could have been warped, how did the gaskets look when u pulled them? These are just a few ideas.

Is the coolant coming out of the radiator or the resevoir?

I'm with Aaron. Even though the heads might not be warped, you could be lifting them.

I don't think passing a compression check necessarily means you don't have a potential leak in the combustion chamber. The pressures during the test are far lower than chamber pressures while running, especially with nitrous.

Perhaps you can run less nitrous, and see what happens. Maybe you have it dialed up a bit more than your current engine setup can take.

I don't have underdrive pullies. Stock fan setup. The engine temperatures are about one notch up from the bottom probably around 160-170. I'm pretty sure the gauge is correct, ive had no problems with it before. I don't see any air bubbles in the coolant resvoir. I did a compression test for all the cylinders, its in one of my other posts. I had it tuned a little rich to be safe on the dyno, so I know its not lean.

The drivers side head gasket was a little bend out of shape, it wouldn't lay flat. Also on some parts of the head gaskets the blue sealant outlines were tinted a little green.

I'm so stumped...

Could the heads still lift with the arp head studs? I thought they were supposed to be the best. Right now I'm only running a 100 dry shot which is only like 65 rwhp. It started with the 125 so I swapped in the 100.

My line of though is maybe you're running little lean and its temporarly overheating the heads, causing the water in the head to boil and pressurize the cooling system, and its happening so quickly that it doesn't overheat the whole system. Whats you temp on the NO2?

My dad was thinking that too? How do you test that, dont you use some infa red light or something? Is there a part number on the water pump, how could I check that too?

Here's my thought. Whats your A/f ratio with the nitrous? My line of though is maybe you're running little lean and its temporarly overheating the heads, causing the water in the head to boil and pressurize the cooling system, and its happening so quickly that it doesn't overheat the whole system. Whats you temp on the NO2?

It's off the charts when using nitrous... I'm definally not running lean...

All your guys help is appreciated! We can figure out this problem one day, damnit!
