one more thing. with the new gears you will have to upgrade the computer to adjust for the new gears or else youll have inaccurate MPH and mileage on your speedometer. a handheld tuner (SCT/Diable, etc) can fix this

Or a small speedo gear...cheap and effective.

05+ Mustang's run axle-back kits, not our cars. But in all honesty, why buy a complete catback system for $600 when you can just weld the mufflers into your stock catback? You said that you're looking for ways to save some cash and you could save at least $500 by just welding some Borlas into the factory exhaust. You really dont NEED the fancy shiney tubing anyway.

LT's are certainaly "do-able" if you wanted to do them by yourself, but they rank up at the top of the "pain-in-the-ass" list as far as mods on a mustang go. I got my O/R H and flowpath catback from JD's Performance. They only sell MAC exhaust and have the best prices I could find. Their customer service is also A+. I plan to get my MAC LT's and prochamber from them in the future.

MAC LT's = $394 (chrome plated), $497 if you want them ceramic coated
Shorty prochamber = $256

Look around and get the best shop you can for gears. Buying you own parts is a good idea, a shop will almost always markup parts costs.
Bottom line, the money is worth it. 4.10's rock! I've installed at least a half dozen sets of gears in 8.8's, and I still spend about six to eight hours doing it. It takes awhile to check bearing preloads, pinion depth, backlash, etc... The labor cost is high for a reason. The key is to find a shop/person that is willing to spend the extra time to do a good job. The little details is what prevents gear whine/clunks/leaks/accelerated wear.
Never did Lt's on an SN-95, but I know for a fact its time consuming on a 5.0 fox. I'm guessing your's will be the same/worse. It doesn't really require special tools or equipment, just a good bit of time and patience.

we started my frpp 4;30's install at 8 am on a cold florida morning and had them done in my friends driveway on jackstands by 11:30, not as hard as made out to be but just gotta know the dimensions and what your doing that being said 900 sounds insane tried any other shops?

I got a brand new FRPP rear end for $700 off eBay with gears of choice...

It was $300 (labor only) from Ford when I had them put in my 3.73's the first time.
