Can somebody tell me if the upper rear seat from a coupe is the same as the one for a fastback?

I'm pretty sure they are different. Hopefully someone else will confirm that.

They're two different seats. The fastback upper rear is designed to be folded down and over the quarters and lower cushion - creating a deck.

The coupe seat is humongus compared to the fastback seat.

I can only speak to '65-'66 - they're interchangable. But even between the two years, there are differences - such as bumper rests, latch pieces, etc.

For such a simple car, the fastback rear seating area has a lot going on...

I've seen full seats on ebay - but they're pretty pricey.

Try Metro Muscle Cars Web Site - Classic and Late Model Mustang Parts and Paint - I've bought a few hard to find parts from these guys. They also have other year Mustangs...

Good luck!

65-70 all the same, maybe even 71-3. These are available new, bare, but maybe you can get a used one from Glazier/Nolan.
