What is so great about them? Is it just the look? Sorry I am new to the whole mustang world, and the whole car world as a matter of fact

Couple of reasons.
-fiberglass is lighter than the stock hood
-you need additional clearance because of your intake selection
-they give the look that some people are after

They also suck more air into the engine so they cool the engine a little bit better. Plus its the back side of the engine where the fan has a tuff time hitting. A cooler engine = better performance At least it sounds right?

Most importantly they look mean... they also give you some extra clearance if you need it
