This one didn't even last 2 years. Around 9pm a couple nights ago, I start my car up and head off to the gas station to grab some soda. It was running rough at first and stalled a couple times Thought maybe it was leftover TB cleaner from earlier in the day. Stomped the gas a couple times and that seemed to have cleared it up a little. Get a few miles into town and its running rough again while I sit at a light. It stalls and I go to crank it a little too fast...then it was like it choked the battery. Suddenly everything was dead. No crank, no headlights...nothing. Just great , I'm thinkin. So now I'm stuck at a light and it turns green. Cars are coming and I can't even use my damn hazzards. Oohh..wonderful. I had to wave people around me. Stuck in the very middle lane with oncoming traffic and no signals at night, yeah go figure that one out. A couple people slowed and asked if I needed to use their cell, that was nice but no I already had my cell on me. Lucky me, a couple minutes later some younger dude drove by and asked if I needed help. Yep, he drove around and slowly used his car to help me to the side street on the corner. I had jumper cables (always) , lucky..it started. But I noticed all the lights flickered easily and the voltage gauge flicked sharply to the left and thenb back to the right while the signals were operating. Battery was toast. it was running solely off the alternator. Not good. So I got home and stole the battery out of my Fox for now. All is good. Just had to rant again. That battery was an Autocraft Titanium. Its the last time I buy one of those. I had problems with Autocraft batteries in the past. Things like short life (again) , cells shorting out (once) and not holding a charge after a couple months. I thought it was my alternator various times. That I replaced about 7 times throughout the 9 years I have owned my V6. never fixed anything or changed the way things respond. Tried different batteries. The anal mart batteries seems to last a bit longer (what I'm using now).

The heat down here in Fl does a hell of a job to your battery. Especially with the AC on 3/4 of the time. I'm thinking of getting a slightly higher output Alt. so less stress on the battery.

Oh and I did find out why it stalled out and was running rough. Dumb arse vacuum line came unhooked from the evap solenoid. Time for a new hose.
