cruise control dead

I drove about 1000 miles to florida using the speed control and when started the return trip it stopped working Ive checked fuses and dont know the next step to find the problem , any thoughts?

The plastic clip at the throttle body got brittle and broke on mine. Can't fix it unless you swap out the entire unit. I have a whole unit from the junk yard but that is to much work for something I don't use.

The clockspring is a part behind the steering wheel, that effectively transfers power between the steering wheel and the car. If it wears out, your cruise control buttons may no longer work. You can also get an airbag light show up, meaning that the airbag system can't "see" the airbag in the steering wheel. Also, your horn may start having issues.

It's also works off vacuum make sure there aren't any vacuum leaks in the system.

Thanks so much, now I now where to start , should be interesting to take apart the steering column. scott
