Does the horn work, how about the air bag system? If either of those are down then it's most likely the air bag sliding contact or as most people call it the clockspring.

First I would check all fuses and then check the switches on the steering wheel

Can't say for Ford, but the idiots at GM wire the cruise control through the brake switch and then through the rear 3rd brake light.

When the bulb burns out, the cruise control stops working...

Took me a while to find that one on my Chevy even with the FSM wiring diagrams and trouble shooting chart.

Worth a look...

Well we all know that ford makes some weird a** stuff and make somethings work lol..
+1 on that last post.
Also i think it could be that clock spring... same thing happened too me.

Oh do you like that Fr500? I had it but i got rid of it, cuz its too thick and doesnt give you alot of feel for the road. IDK maybe iam on crack or something but yea lol.. good luck:SNSign:

have you changed your clutch position lately, or swapped to an adjustable cable? that threw my clutch sensor off and mine didnt work right until I re-adjusted it.

If the clockspring was damaged so that the air bag had a circuit fault then yes you air bag light would flash.

I would check the wiring and connector at the deactivation switch ( on the clutch pedal support)

Also check fuses 3 and 6 in the instrument panel fuse box
