I just got home from seeing David Gilmour at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. My buddy got us seats thru his job with cablevision.......Orchestra, row KK seats 407 and 408....translates into dead center of the 11th row from the stage in the center section. The guy next to me said he paid $750 for his ticket!
One word to describe David's guitar tonight...........CRISP!
First set was his new album "On an Island". They did the entire album, but not in order, 'cause right after the third song two "guest" vocalist (who also perform on the album) came out.....David Crosby and Graham Nash......the place just went nuts at that point!
Second set was all older Pink Floyd material from "Dark Side of the Moon", "Division Bell", they did "Comfortably Numb" for the encore, they even did "Echoes"!
Had to be the best concert I've been to in the last few years, and at my age, all I go to now are the guaranteed GOOD shows (Stones, Who, Yes, U2, etc., etc.....)
Needless to say, I'm gonna be wound up for a bit before I can get any sleep.

i saw them when they were on the division bell tour. the crowd in san antonio got so forceful stomping on the floors and so loud we actually cracked the alamo dome. then we got to listen to the show again on the radio all the way home. apparently the show sold out so quickly that alsmost no one from the austin/san antonio are got tickets. they went on sale at like 8 am and i bought my tickets through ticketmaster at around 11 am and the guy said it was a good thing i called when i did because they were almost sold out at that point. i did actually buy tickets here in lubbock but it was about 2 weeks before i was moving to austin, the concert was over a month away at that point. we were so high up in the nosebleed seats you needed binoculars to get a good view of the stage, luckily i already knew that in advance of the show so i brought mine. it was a badass show for sure. floyd just kicked ass all night. and they played for like 3.5 hours with no opening band at all, it was just awesome. i think there was a small intermission at some point so they could bring out more stuff, but it was ,by far, the best rock concert i've ever been to hands down.
