Drew, you need a tuner like a Tweecer or another program that allows you to manipulate values in the car's computer. Don't listen to guys who say "I just blocked off the valve and nothing's happened to me". Just because they don't hear the ping doesn't mean it isn't happening at part throttle. After you shut the function off in the computer then you can use one of the EGR delete kits that are so popular to removed and block off the EGR valve.

yeah its too bad the pms wont let me shut it off. I have the egr still on there just no vac source. Do i just need to plug my vac regulator back up and connect the vac lines to it?

Tim is, as usual, right on. A handheld that allows it or a chip are the way to turn it off in the puter. Doing this will dial back all the EGR-induced advance, and increase the injector pulsewidth during times when the EGR would have functioned.

hmm, my car is running so lean. like 18:1 at idle and part throttle...wonder if it has anything to do with the egr not being hooked up except for the electrical plug
