the poor 4.6l finally after having it sitting around for 4 months I took it all apart today while nursing my hangover.

What, no windows in the block?

So what did it take to break the rod? Too many revs or making 450+rwhp?

Ohh, that sucks. I thought that rod looked a little funny. Normally, they fail in tension, even when you are making big horsepower and that one clearly failed in compression. Hydrolock would explain why it failed in compression and why your oil is all milky.

That sucks. Maybe you can get a cheap block from the junk yard, like a crown vic to build up and have bored over?

Damn it must have hydro locked bad to break a rod off. Usually they just bend the rod not break it off.

Good lord man, that is nasty.

Water will do some terrifying things to a motor. It does not compress too well...

Drove through a puddle in the roadway at about 3am in December and it just seized instantly. 5g and a month later it was all fixed up just got around to opening up the engine to see the destruction.

before we pulled the engine we started it up and it ran, barely on 7 cylinders.

That must if been a sweet sound Never got to see the inside of a hydrolocked engine before.
