Car runs great and has always passed emissions, but this year AZ apparently changed from the idle/2500rpm test to some sort of simulated drive that uses different gears, varying RPM and throttle loads.
Grams/mile
Hydrocarbons (HC) 1.87 1.00 FAIL
Carbon monoxide (CO) 8.81 12.00 PASS
Oxides of nitrogen (NOX) 2.86 2.50 FAIL
I had just installed a 180 degree thermo, flushed and refilled the car with new coolant earlier that day and when the test was done my car was at the top of the R in normal, so there is probably still some air in the system that needs to be burped (I hope.) Timing is at 12 degrees, so should I set that to 10, or even lower?
Spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil are all about a year old. My MAC catted H-pipe has about 35,000 miles through it. Exhaust smells fine...
