Well ever since I got my car the piece that covers the rear speakers has been faded so today I got around to painting it. Masked off the carpet, cleaned it really good, then sprayed gloss black over it and it came out very nice. Heres a before/after picture

What kind of paint did you use? I know their are specific paints for interior parts but I thought they were a multi-step process. Anyways looks good.

duplicolor gloss black that I had laying around in the garage... the way I see it is nothing is going to be rubbing against it, and nothing is going to be set up there, so the paint shouldnt rub off or anything.

You're actually supposed to take thoes side pannels off that are right next to the seat, but to get thoes off teh top pannels have to come off so I said forget it, managed to get it out with everything still in place, just had to remove that headrest thing (3 10mm bolts) and it was out... I wanted to clean it anyways too.

aww man it took no longer than 10min to get it out, then another 20 to paint it and let it dry. Probably take about an hour total if you take your time. Its just a PITA to clean back there because of the window, i decided to take it out and blow it off with the air hose since our vacuum doesnt suck, an dpainted it while it was out. Used Mothers Back to Black on the other piece.... Wasnt too impressed with that stuff.
