Because they only had 135hp.
Also, the merkurs had an open rear end.

Will putting Trac Loc into the rear of a N/A kill it? I am not planning on doing it just want to know what the effect will be.

Stinger, first let me say I respect the hell out of you. But where the hell did you come up with that quote up above. I bought my carb turbo new, and yes its WAS a one legger with 135hp, but I could smoke that one leg at will. Just wondering if you knew that. And now that I have my tracloc with my 3.73's and my water/methanol injection going, I can do it easily now today. Dunno why you would say that.

radartec...I was referring to the "will it kill a n/a rear end" comment above...I wasn't talking about the carb turbo cars.

I always was under the impression that placing trac loc on the N/A would bog it down and would take more Hp to run it. If I am wrong I may look into throwing it in because I will be puting it in for the swap anyways.

Thats what I thought also

I was thinking it was like putting a TracLok on my 93'LX 2.3L N/A that has trouble peeling out on Ice
