do coilovers put more stress on balljoints?

i installed coilovers alittle while back, im curious if coilovers will put more stress on my balljoints than a regular suspension set up?

I wouldn't worry so much about the balljoints as i would with the top of the strut towers.

I'd say investing in quality Caster Camber plates is a must with coil-overs. It's do a STB as well. Max Motorsports would be my recommendation on both

I would say the ball joint would because all the support is on it and not from the kmember to the a arm.

as long and u keep up mantinace on them making sure the boots and it is greased properly they should be just fine

why not go with a upper/lower control arm stetup?

they should be fine unless you decide to auto cross the car or road coarse it... if thats the case... upgrade.

it takes alot of work but they have a mustang II set up for the front if u really were worried about it

I would think that they would releive some since the spring is no longer pushing on the control arm to hold the car up, basically all the lower ball joint at this point is only keeping the wheel from flopping around.

in a coil over kit that is on the mustangs is a mcpherson strut set up the load is at the strut tower so ur caster plates will take the most abuse and the lower ball joint is a follower

Maybe this true but arent coil over springs lighter in spring rate than the stockers?

still wont effect the ball joint... if anything.. the lighter spring is better for part longevity because the harder spring would exert more force to keep the tire in contact with the road and over the coarse of the lower Ball joint life span it would see harder impacts over bumps...where as the softer spring would absorb the jolt and transfer the force into the dampener(shock/strut).
