Well at the dragstrip my battery light decided to come on and stay on for good. I don't really know what happened but the battery is no longer charging. I checked almost all of the grounds and wires. If i need a new alt which do you people recommend?

Take it to autozone and get tested to see if its bad. I'm not sure if theres a way to hook a voltage meter up to it to check that way. I dont think it costs anything, but you can always call to make sure. Hell... it might just be your battery is gone and need a new one.

Stupid question... but have you checked all of your connections?

I replaced mine with the autozone one it has a life time warrenty. If it takes a dump just replace it again. If you want to spend the big buck the 3g makes some high amp alts.

If you hook up a volt meter to your batt. it should read at least 12.4 or around there and with a little throttle to it it should read at least 14.00 anything less than 14.something usually means your alt is not charging properly.

is your car's voltage/charging meter good? i notice that when i was changing my u/d pullies that it had a warning that some ford alternators have a longer shaft so if u put new pullies on without a lock washer you might have charging problems... or it could be a bad diode or connection somewhere

I have stock pullies. My dad said i probably burnt up one of the diodes. No way i can replace that right? It is inside the alternator. The light came on when the rpms were around 6000.
