I have a Performer Intake, if that's the question, and ran the cheap short Auto Zone chrome ones. I just installed poly-locks and went with tall Aluminum ones. You can go with either if you are talking about the intake.

You only need tall valve covers if you have roller rockers or a stud girdle.

"Need"?

No.

But you may want them anyway. The need for high-rise valve covers is not due to manifold or cam lift but due to the rockers. I am using a cam with 0.506 lift and roller rockers but am using the short valve covers. I did have to remove the baffles for clearance and according to my clay it is still very tight.
