Do Not Buy from Route 104 Ford in Oswego, NY

I don't believe that the dealer MADE anyone bid on that car, and it states clearly that it is a bid over MSRP. I would not bid on it, but it doesn't make the dealer a "cheat, conman, and liar". Who are we to say how much the chance to own the "first one" is worth to someone else. A vehicle is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it...

Maybe the title to this thread should be "Don't bid on new Mustangs on e-bay because they are over sticker and you should not pay that much unless you really want to".

I hope those are fake bids on that auction.. If people are that stupid they deserve to be taken..

Are you insane? You should be reported to ford and lose your dealer license. What a bunch of bs. I suppose you plan to sell this car for 30 grand too, after someone ha payed 15 grand for a stupid "right to buy". Greedy son of bitches.

I see they straightened this out. I wonder if the people who had that thing bid up to 12 grand called after they realized what they had done. Now the price is down to where you'd expect it to be.

If you actually took a minute to take a close look at the auction rather than getting all emotional you would see the starting bid was set at $100, it was bidders that ran it up to $12,000. I see absolutely nothing shady whatsover about auctioning off the first chance to buy a GT in that area. Are you even familiar with the dealer?

Paying a little money to get a new Mustang first makes total sense but I'm sure that the bidders that ran it up to 12 g's didn't understand the auction. That's why those bids have been taken down and the price is now about 8-$900 which is where you'd expect it to be.

If you have to have one of the first batch, which some people will, the winning bidder is going to pay no more than all the rest of the first batch buyers that pay over list. Because the first ones will sell for over MSRP. Happens every time a new model comes out. Espesially one with as much anticipation as the Stang. Bottom line, If you want to wait until you can buy one for MSRP or less go ahead but there will be an entire throng of people that will pay more at first. Because having one first is worth the money to them. By the way, I am NOT one of these idiots as you might call them. I would personally rather wait until the price is right.

Final amount was over 4k! Makes me wonder how much I could get for my option to get one of the first '07 SVT's if I decide not to buy it.....

I've seen guys who weren't dealers get on the list to be one of the first owners and sell their option to buy on ebay for big money.

Amazing how people that sell cars for more than MSRP (some Ferraris sell for considerably more used than new, it's called Market Value) are considered "smart investors" while dealers who do the same thing are cheats, conmen, and liars.
