I have a 65 mustang that i will be restoring. I am putting a 5.0 engine in it as we speak and the t5 to go with it. I am not sure whether or not i should keep or sell the original engine and tranny. if i do decide to sell how much is it worth. Thanks guys, Nick
I'd say depends on what your doing with rest the car. If your restomodding it all you may as well get rid of it as it will never be "original" again, however if you ever plan on restoreing back to orginal it would be a good thing to keep.
I would keep the original engine and trans, too many cars out there have had theirs removed and lost over time. I'm assuming you're taking out a 289/C4, find a place to stash it, even if it is only to go along with the car to a future owner someday. I wouldn't think that engine combo would be worth much, and the money gained by its sale would likely be little compared to the cost of the swap you're doing, and wouldn't make much difference.
