Door hinge rebuild questions

I recently bought a hinge rebuild kit for my '70 convertible. No problems installing it, but I'm not happy with the fit. Has anyone found some bushings and pins that have a better fit?

I want the doors to have as little slop as possible. I put the kit into one of the hinges and it's no better than before.

I am going to replace the quarters on my car so I need to be able to hang the doors and then use them as a reference point. It would really be nice to have no up and down movement of the doors once they are hung.

The fit between the bushing and the hinge is fine. That is nice and tight. They had to be tapped in with a hammer.

What I'm complaining about is the fit between the supplied bushings and the supplied pins. That fit is too loose. On the bright side the box the bushings came in was marked with ID and OD. I might look around for bushings with the same OD and a smaller ID. Then I can get a reamer to match the bushings to the pins if necessary.

Possibly I'm complaining about something that most would think is a non-issue. I'm sure I'm being more picky than some would be. However, I want the doors to swing as nicely as possible. I want almost unnoticeable slop if possible. The hinges can certainly work better than this rebuild kit allows. Also, I want the quarter panel alignment to be dead on. If I'm doing this work I want to be very happy with it when it's done.
