Door Panel Vapour Barrier???

Does this really need to go in?? I've seen it in magazines and I have my door panel off to fix the window ('65 coupe) and it is obviously not in there.

What does it do and should you have it??

It keeps water from splashing up and warping the door panel. It isn't needed much if you keep the car in the garage and don't drive it in the rain.

it is nothing more than heavy brown paper. You can get it at Home Depot or even use paper bags if yo want to add it.
