Please don't laugh. Any sort of beginners guide? All I know of the above is that they give more horses and improve the shift points (automatic). What is the best to get, and how do you install such a thing? What the heck is 'flashing?' Is there something I can get in conjunction with my existiing KN?

Also, my car has an extended warranty so if I so much as sneeze at the engine bay, they will invalidate the warranty. They're relatively strict. Is the tuner something relatively easy to uninstall so they don't notice? I can take out my KN CAI with relative ease and put back the old air box if need be.

The engine programer is a hand held tunner that plugs into the computer port to reflash the computer, you can just as easily reflash the computer back to stock settings. However, I'm not a big fan of K&N filter, they flow alot of air, but they flow alot of dirt as well, also they require oiling and ford mafs don't like alot of oil. AEM has a dryflow filter that needs no oil and filters verywell and they make filter for other manufactures intakes. Keep reading the forum, you will learn alot, also ask alot of questions, thats how you learn and why these forums exist.

They have to show that your modifications caused the problem.... It takes quite a bit to void a warranty....

Above your left shin. To the right of the door and the left of the brake pedal underneath the dash.

Realize that a dealer can do anything they please. They can refuse to do the work on your automobile for any reason, regardless of consumer laws. Sure, those laws are meant to protect you from dealer abuse, but the law doesn't mean anything unless you take action. If your rights are violated, it wont mean much until you take the money/time/energy to pursue legal action against your dealer.

Definitely not arguing that they can refuse to work on the car but they don't have the power to void a warranty. That takes a special trip from Ford engineer type specially flown in.
