Glad you got it running and the brakes look great. I just did up a pair I have in red as well. I know red calipers are overplayed but I still think they look. If you need an IAC I will give you one...or two. I literally have 6 or 7 of them. Let me know.

Chris

Thanx man I really appreciate it. I have a few of them myself. I grabbed them off every Ford I found in the yard almost. I even have a couple escort ones.

Added a 250amp mega fuse to the main battery cable. I went through all types of ideas to do this. Was going to order a mega fuse box like the alternator one, that thing is too big. Then I bought more cable ends to cut the cable and add it behind the fender, that defeated the purpose and put it after the metal it passes through. So...I came up with this. Coulda saved myself 5 bucks...no cable cutting required.

Got the calipers mounted and bled the brakes with my mighty vac. Haven't started the car yet. Pedal travel feels a little weird. There are no leaks but feels like air is still somewhere in there. I'll find out tomorrow.

Tried to paint the " Cobra " script with some touch up paint I have for the 19....yeah don't try that. It had a bad reaction with the caliper paint and wrinkled the " C " up. Luckily, I was still in the process of doing that first letter. I wiped it off, red paint too. When the paint fully cures I'll sand the red off the top of all the letters and see how the bare aluminum letters look. If I like it I'll clear them and call it a day....if not then I'll paint them black with different paint that's the same ceramic paint as the caliper paint.

Jeeesh I'm tired...time to go to bed.

What did that battery terminal come off of? I could use something like that on my car to get a few terminals off of my starter solenoid.

When I painted my cobra calipers, I did just what you are talking about on the lettering. I think makes a good contract between the black calipers and the aluminum colored letters.

I planned on doing the rear tie rod ends...but that plan changed. I'm on a time restraint so Dusty is back on his wheels. Adjusted the prop valve 2.t turns in and the pedal feels great. Haven't driven it yet but i can say that with the vacuum pump on the booster it feels so much better when the car is running.

I screwed up the threads on one of the rear moroso studs. I'm going to attempt to fix the threads. I don't even know how it happened. Oh well.

I played around with Dusty a little yesterday. I have 50mm offset wheels because of the IRS. Up front I was using a single 13mm spacer per side taking the offset down to 37mm. The tires always rubbed on turns and drove me crazy. Never could find the rub patch. Just didn't really turn the wheels far. I had two more 13mm spacers laying around so I threw them on...bringing the offset to 24mm. I run hub centric spacers and Moroso 3inch hardened studs. I still would not ride around like this or recommend it. I pulled'em out to reverse positions in the garage. Had to make a u turn and there was no rubbing at all. Must've been hitting the sway bar or control arm. I'm really happy to be able to turn the car. When things calm down I will order 1 inch hub centric spacers.

The brakes feel really good. Way softer pedal than I'm used to. Still need to make some adjustments. Right now its turned in 2.5 turns.

Here's how it sat last night. Ignore the old washer and dryer in there.

The car runs like crap right now. That will be smoothed out real soon with Steve's help. Can't wait to drive it again.

I paint cobra calipers a lot. Have done many sets. I always scrape off the paint on the letters with a razor blad before the paint gets too hard. Then I clear the caliper. Comes out pretty good.

Been a few days....or a couple of weeks. Not sure...its been a bunch of stuff going on that I'll update at a later date. Nothing bad. Good stuff man, good stuff.

Anyway, Steve ( a91what ) was busy today. I don't know how he got anything done while helping me and Mike out. My car is always a pain. Between my slow Lenovo computer and my hotspot it's always a s#it show. Dealing with my computer cursor is like steering a canoe through rough seas. The thing is all over the place.

I get Steve on the phone, download all the stuff that make wizardry happen, connect to wifi, and watch and learn. We get the car idling down to about 800ish. No more hanging rpms. After a few adjustments everything is decent at idle. We decide to go for a ride down to the gas station about 2.5 miles away. Load up with a spare battery and jumper cables and head out. Car is doing pretty good. I can hear Steve clicking away in my bluetooth ear piece. Brakes work .... everything is going smooth. Get to the pump and connection goes haywire. Phone loses connection, laptop is super slow, and ear plug messing up. I get fuel while trying to get Steve back on line. Multiple attempts and finally we can hear each other and he's back in control.

We jump on the highway and I'm feeling real good with the car. Decide to take a back road home to open it up a bit....nope....a damn pool water delivery truck gets in front of me. This guy is a complete jack butt. There's nowhere to pass and this guy, literally, is idling away from the red lights. What the freaking hell....he was going so slow that a was stuck between 1st and 2nd gear. This idiot drove my whole damn road at about 15 - 20mph. He had to know I was back there and wanted to make my life hell....he did do that...but not for long. A couple turns later and we were back on some open asphalt. Dusty felt better every second. I could really feel this car start coming to life.

To make the day even better, I turn into my neighborhood and get flagged down by a beautiful neighbor. She's out on her lawn flailing her arms around and telling me to stop. I stop the car, throw it in reverse and proceed to back up to the beginning of my imaginations dreams of beautiful women, fast cars, and big smiles. I prepared myself for the, " Can I get a ride ? " question. Trying to look all cool I give her the chin up, she smiles even harder. Then her husband comes running from the top of the hill and hands me my screw drivers that fell off the car while I was driving out. He actually picked them all up for me. Kinda gave me the " nice car nod " and then gently handed me my screwdrivers. He sorta slid them across my hand.....ewwww...ewwwww....ewww ! My dream was over and completely wrong.

Put the car up for the night. I think this is the furthest I've ever driven'em. I know this was the longest it's been idling and driving. We messed with it for about 3 hrs and I drove it 15 miles. Lol

Still a little to do but it's coming together. The brakes feel a hell of a lot better with the vacuum pump and the adjustable proportioning valve.

Glad I could make that happen for you today, but man you gotta get a new pc... that was murder, I would click a button or select a block of cells and it would take over a minute for the changes to appear on the screen.

I think it was trying to update in the background slowing the process up. I'm going to try to turn all that crap off....as soon as I find out how. The thing was running virus scans and hardware / software checks the whole time. Didn't finish until about 7pm.

Step 1. Ensure you Boot and login 4 hours prior to needing it.

Send me a PM if you continue to have issues or are not satisfied with the performance.

Proof that I did complete the calipers.

During my tuning session I kept getting a weird rattle while driving. Stopped with the car and didn't change with throttle. I mentioned this to Steve an blew it off. Tonite I found out that I didn't hook up the drivers side e brake cable. It was just sitting in the caliper causing the splitter to rub my aluminum shaft. No damage to the shaft and now it's fixed. Don't know how I missed that.

Oh and the jacked up rear moroso stud isn't screwed up any more. Threads are ok....the lug nut galled up. Thank goodness for hardened studs. A little grease and a new lug nut fixed it right up.

Bud light and Jack and Coke was the beverage for tonight. Trying to get another house is a real PITA. I'm going to bed now. ..

Well....told y'all I'd update with some news. Dusty has a new home. It was great but I need more space. Like they say....it was great while it lasted. Wife got tired of it. With the new old car coming there was just no space.....

...so I got a new house. Not the one we wanted at first but has the same basic floor plan minus the fireplace in the bedroom. You all are crazy if you thought I'd get rid of either of my mustangs.

Here's Dusty's new home.
