I've had little cracks like that on lots of plastic and fg parts. Try to v out the crack just a little to allow the pba to get into the crack.

PBA is the strongest glue I know of Scott, plus it retains flexibility. It holds new quarter panels and beds on. I've seen the metal of a replaced panel tear and the pba still in tact.

I beveled the crack a little. I glued a little piece off plastic last night and by this morning it would not come apart. Couldn't even rip it apart. The hologen lights kept it at about 107°.

I plan to do the front of the bumper today and glue the winglettes on the wing. Then the front bumper and wing should be able to go on the car Sunday or Monday.

Well... got two things done today

The front bumper by the fog light surround was scratched up really bad. Got the first round of fix on that.

I decided to test the PBA with the same stuff thats on the wing...... fiberglass. The end of these wedges are about 1/4 inch thick. We'll see how this goes tomorrow. If it holds those winglettes are getting glued.

PBA is strong. It took a significant amount of strength to do this...

I couldn't pull the things apart at all...but a decent amount of force did manage to separate them using the glued edge as a fulcrum....I'm satisfied...the winglettes will be glued.

The bumper bodywork is done for ther crack. Very pleased with that, too.

Just a few coats of primer and a lot of sanding ahead. Then I can glue this thing back on.

Looks good, cant wait to see it back on the car. The wing is a really cool idea, I have never seen that done before.

Do ya know what this means......?

It means this...

The last time I did this I glued it while on the car with 3m 04747 epoxy. That stuff sets in like 1 minute. The bumper was actually off center and a tiny bit crooked. This PBA allowed me to get it dead on straight and even from side to side.

Its now stuck together.... and there's no return. On the back side I used drywall tape and PBA to reinforce the seam. Should hold up decent.

Still have some sanding and finishing to do... then a final coat of ... ( I think ) flat black.

I used to know of a place that sold factory paint colors in aerosol cans. If i could find that place, the wing, cobra bumper, and saleen rear bumper would all be dark cabernet red. I believe the paint code is 2h. I'll search around the interwebs and see what i come up with...

The place is called Auto Zone.
Duplicolor sells the paint in aerosol cans in the exact factory color. It is lacquer however. It will dry super fast, and spraying it is so easy.......(even a caveman could do it). It will probably need color sanding, and buffing if you want it flat and shiny.
But cut it with some 600, followed by some 1000, and finish with some 2000 before buffing it.......and...

The hood is base clear, The hood scoop is lacquer that I gave the treatment to.

Lacquer.... isn't that the stuff from the 70's.

I heard it was hard to spray enamel over lacquer. Eventually, I want to get the whole car painted.... once I fix the gabillion dings in this thing.

The site I vaguely remember had enamel paint in base coats with a seperate can of clear coat.

Nothing against the AZ stuff.... I've used it in the past. Got decent results. The last i checked their inventory stopped at about 1996...

The lacquer paint came in quarts of green, red, yellow, blue, black, and ( i think ) silver. Had a picture of an old nova on the front. That stuff worked, too.

Maybe I can talk Dave into coming to the east coast.... then I wouldn't have to worry about this ish.

I think Collin had paint mixed in rattle can form when he did his engine bay-I kinda remember something about having to smash a button on the bottom of the can to mix the paint- that may be what you are looking for

I can't believe I'm up at 2 am. To be honest, I'm completely stressed the hell out.

A whole bunch of stuff is going on right now and my brain just won't let me sleep. No... no really bad or traumatic stuff.... just life ish. I've been spread pretty thin the last month or so.

I'm trying to stay on track with Dusty. He's coming along. Today I stripped the windshield trim off and started cleaning out the cowl. It's amazing how much stuff can build up in there. Didn't find any big surprises. I want to Por15 in there but it'll have to wait until after the move.

I painted the top trim piece a few months ago. The windshield is hazed and chipped a little. The plastic cowl is cracked. Seems like a good time to get that stuff replaced or cleaned up.

Maybe, I'll get the front door speakers installed this weekend.

I'll post pics tomorrow.... for now, i'mma try to take my tired @#$ to bed. Smh
