How come you sometimes see the hp & tq scaled the same

and

Other times, you see them not the same

Usually the scaling is different for HP and Torque, that is the only time I have ever seen them not cross.

Grady, you know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I think they rescale the torque and horsepower curves simply for viewing purposes.

Well Joe

I don't know why they do it
but
for reasons unknown, I don't like it when they do

You know how opinionated those old geezers can be

I was wondering if I was the only one who had thought about it. Looks like I'm not the only one who don't know the answer

I guess if you made them the same, the shape of the curve might not look as impressive to the customer

I thought you knew everything!

seriously though, I saw that you were asking a question and I thought it had to be a mistake.

Scott, my across the pond friend

You mistake knowledge for the fact I've been around for so long ...

I just repeat what I've heard others before you say

Not only that, but Scott is mad because we're mearsuring things in ft-lbs and those Brits are too busy measuring in Newtons.

no, I'm mad because shipping cost too much and there isn't a mustang shop with in 3,000 miles.

however there is a couple drag strips believe it or not. so all is not lost!

OK Guys

I brought this thread back from the dead because I finally got around to playing with some data to get an apples to apples comparison

I took the numerical values from Donavan's recent pull and loaded them in a file I use from time to time to see how they would differ

Notice how on my chart, the hp/tq cross at 5252 like you normally see.

Still don't know what the benefit is or why the Dynojet guys display some of the charts where hp and tq don't use the same scale

Anyway ... here is what turned up
